open to references being made to real life things but please don't tell her she's a comic book character. please note: the franchise technically takes place in a alternate version of Earth/USA where the US won the Vietnam war, and vigilantes have influenced the outcome of the war and Nixon's presidency. There may be mentions of that and other real life topics around the 1900's - 1980's.

I am here for it! laurie has reflected that she has a lot of issues in regards to her parents/step-father stating 'probably why I'm edgy in relationships with strong, forceful guys'. please note: as I am playing her from the comic version and using the movie pb, there is a bit of focus on how she seems to be defined by the relationships she has with the men in her life. she is someone who dates and avoids one-night stands, opting for a longer term commitment. I would prefer to avoid flings unless it's in a meme scenario, would prefer assumed cr for this. canon ships: ♥laurie/dan ✘ laurie/the comedian, laurie/jon (manhattan) (would prefer to not touch up on that due to their questionable dynamic). cross-canon is my absolute favorite f/m leaning, but open to f/f (she needs to explore her sexuality more).

laurie has a complicated background and lifestory, that may come up in threads depending on who she is speaking to and the situation. she was born from a mother who groomed and primed her into being her replacement, to the point where she picked and dressed her up in a rather sexual fitting outfit at the young age of sixteen. in addition to this, laurie's real father had sexually assaulted and attempted to rape her mother, causing her to have a deep hatred for him only to learn that her mother had forgiven him due to 'giving her laurie'. her father is a serial rapist, physically and violently abusive to women, and a murderer (killing a woman who he impregnanted in vietnam). she was also subjected to a level of child abuse from her stepfather who often demeaned her, bullied her, and was cruel to her as she was the product of an affair between her mother and the comedian. in addition to this, in the comics there is a stronger emphasis on how jon osterman had essentially groomed and dated her at a young age of 16, all the way until her early 30's, leaving her in a state of arrested development. the movie glosses over this detail, simply referring to her as jailbait, but in the comics it is clear jon's actions were nearly criminal and distrubing based on his former partner's comments over the situation. in general there is an overall theme of misogyny, slut-shaming, victim blaming, etc. from the other vigilantes towards characters like silk spectre (sally jupiter), silhouette, and laurie herself. if you would prefer for me to avoid these topics, or prefer not to be tagged by this character, please use the opt-out form below in the comments. all comments screened.
